Pros
I have been working at Gallagher Communication full-time for over three years. My previous employer was acquired by Gallagher in 2017 and swiftly merged into Gallagher Communication as part of its Communications arm. • The people are great, both within my team and the rest of the company – everyone is really supportive. • Tech Stack is current and relevant, working on the latest frameworks, using the latest software and hardware. • Processes (Developer wise) are done right, CD/CI is in place, code reviews and knowledge sharing amongst the team is prevalent. • Workflow protects developers from interruptions/distractions. Having work ‘booked in’ through a Digital studio manager is really helpful to minimise interruptions (e.g ‘Just a quick question…’) and help keep you in that state of deep concentration. • Treatment and communication throughout the COVID crisis has been exemplary – management have been supportive with WFH and arranging equipment, plus communication as a company has been great.
Cons
Only one minor one springs to mind; There is no clear career progression path (yet) – this is mainly due to the speed of the parent company, Gallagher, acquiring other companies and merging them together - changing the org structure, there is a plan in place but the COVID Crisis has (understandably) put that on pause for now.
