Pros

Excellent Branding, but beware outside appearances do not at all reflect inside actions-sweat shop culture with lazy leadership. Be prepared to do the work of 3 with little support.

Cons

Some regions do not act on the duty to service insured first, they will manipulate carriers, service providers, employees and the like to achieve their corporate or quarterly proforma goals.

Pros

Smart people abound in this company. Everyone is trying to find someone to solve their problem. You have 2 ways to get fed, be related to the Gallagher Clan in some way, or be part of a practice group. Happy I left this place behind.

Cons

Acquisitions, acquisitions, acquisitions...dilutes the flavor of the company. I started working at Gallagher, but ended up working for another firm (because of an acquisition) that I would NEVER have worked for. Gallagher does not care about employees because they are always saying they made a ton of money, but they never have money for raises. Cheap, go figure. Firm promotes 'Most Ethical Company' Status, but that is a cover for all the shady politicking that goes on at this firm. Local management are wimps. Regional management stays behind the curtain and plays chess master with employees. Plays fast and loose for a public company. Benefits are sub-par for a firm of this size. Cheap, cheap cheap company....yet they make soooo much money. They talk culture, but its snow. Wall Street first....employees last.

Pros

Flexible work setting (remote and hybrid).

Cons

Extremely toxic workplace. The data team leadership shows clear signs of dysfunction, with constant micromanagement and no structured onboarding or training. VPs go as far as spying on employees by monitoring calendars and dictating daily priorities, focusing more on “how” rather than “what” needs to be done. New hires are expected to handle tasks like architecture design without guidance — responsibilities that aren’t even part of the original job description. Interaction and learning from other team members are restricted, and humiliation is common. Leaders seem to enjoy watching employees struggle, only to insult them and accuse them of not grasping basic concepts. If a new employee is struggling, it’s usually because a) they are new, and b) they need proper guidance — which should be a key part of onboarding. In my case, the role I was hired for had already been filled THREE times, with each person leaving within weeks or a few months. I didn't receive proper transition or onboarding. Instead, I was told not to talk to anyone and was expected to figure everything out on my own, while the VP still demanded I become an expert in just two months. Every day was spent dealing with extreme micromanagement.
