Great HR, but toxic leadership

Pros

HR and other external departments were great at looking after people's health and well being.

Cons

It took me a while to heal after leaving this company, mainly because of the direct leadership above me. Leaders that I worked with had huge egos, jwa, and extreme micro-management tactics who were incentivized to push direct reports to their limit. They did not care about mentoring or fostering growth. If they did not see the KPIs they wanted that were completely OUT OF OUR CONTROL, then they personally attacked you by gas lighting you in thinking you could have done more. Months after I left, not fired, the leaders that I've mentioned who have been there for years were pushed out of the company. Good job to HR for pushing that whole toxic jwa out after I left.

Pros

They don’t physically abuse their workers. They are a wonderful case study on poor leadership.

Cons

Discriminatory and narcissistic leaders/department heads that would rather waste company time and money on their fireside chat circle jerks than actually improving the company. (And they’ll lay off the people doing the real work to keep it that way!) If you’re a woman, minority, parent, or someone with a disability- I’m so serious when I say do NOT work here. You’ll be the first they choose to lay off or manage out. The amount of disgusting methods I’ve overheard (thanks 4 days in office and nobody being able to book a conference room so there’s no privacy) to manage out anyone who has requested an accommodation is absolutely nauseating and frankly a very serious legal risk. Convinced any positive reviews are from managers desperately trying to recruit a sucker that hasn’t read the other reviews. I think the most insidious nature of this place is how good they are at masking the absolute dumpster fire they are during the recruitment process, those guys seriously deserve a raise for the amount of smoke and mirrors they have to create to convince some clueless recent college grad that this is a good choice for their career and personal growth.

Pros

Strong client exposure and commercially relevant work. Good platform to build foundational skills, particularly earlier in tenure. Many capable colleagues across the business.

Cons

Following the introduction of new APAC regional leadership, there has been a clear shift in both operating style and culture. Management has become heavily metrics-driven, with a growing reliance on KPIs that often do not reflect the realities of client work or the nuances of the role. This has created a disconnect between how performance is measured and how value is actually delivered. There has also been a shift towards more visible and individualised performance scrutiny, with underperformance at times highlighted in group settings. Given the natural variability of the role week to week, this approach can feel overly reductive and, at times, misaligned with how performance should be assessed. While accountability is important, the current approach often feels more punitive than developmental. The overall culture has become more tense and less supportive, with a noticeable shift towards individual pressure over team collaboration. There is a stronger focus on scrutiny than coaching, which has contributed to lower engagement and motivation across teams.
