Pros

Amazing atmosphere, really smart people, strong senior leadership in some teams more than others. Fun place and emphasis on learning and developing. Really really smart people keep getting hired (although there is the occasional mis-step). Office is exceptional and perks are great. Often get to meet clients in the office. Work is hard but rewarding, smart people rise to the top. I really don’t get the people who vent after leaving as we have seen recently, it tarnishes their legacy and is not constructive in any way. I personally like it here. But...

Cons

Lots of process roll out but very little actual leadership at the very top in EMEA despite next levels trying valiantly IMO and clearly being hindered with lack of purpose. Main people (all men btw) all have offices and are never seen on the floor. Senior leadership keeps swooping in with no real engagement amongst the troops on the ground (CEO and CTO are notable exceptions though - they are impressive).

Pros

The pay is highly competitive. They have lots of interesting employees and you can meet people of all backgounds. Committed to diversity. Nice office space. Good benefits in terms of employee mental wellness, phone reimbursal, parking, etc.

Cons

Very repetitive and monotonous, painful and manual process. Too much change in terms of everything else. From my second week to the day i left after 2 years and a week, I did the exact same calls and lead generation - but the tools, the people I worked with, where I sat, the names of business units, my pay, my vacation time, and everything else changed. Most often it would change with little to no notice - you would walk in and the systems would be different. They oversold the job on all the problem solving and collaboration we would be doing - almost none. If you want to learn you can, but also if you don’t want to learn anything you can just do the process and get by and not build any skills at all. The management is aware the learning and development is a huge gap and at the time I left they were working to address that but it seemed like a lot of talk and presentations without much real career development occurring.

Thanks for the feedback. As mentioned, we are investing in our learning and development efforts both in terms of role-based capability building and more robust manager training programs. We also recognize that during your time with us, we grew significantly – introducing new opportunities as well as a few changes. We are working hard to improve our lines of communication so everyone from new hire to veteran GLGer stays better informed on what’s coming and why – from new tools to internal people processes.
