Pros

I’ve worked with super smart and curious individuals who take pride in what they do. I learn not only from my managers but from individuals across all levels and places within the organization. I’ve had managers who have believed in me and pushed me by giving me direct feedback (sometimes that feedback hurt but that’s ok, it made me better and I am thankful). If you put in the hard work, the opportunity to progress is limitless. Your career at GLG is a function of your effort. On a personal level, I’ve forged friendships for life. People genuinely care about each other; competition is healthy in nature and there is a true sense of community. As cliché as it may sound, people are the best thing about GLG. I smirk while reading reviews about no transferable skills being acquired by individuals in the front lines. Six months into the job and one could be DIRECTLY engaging with senior-level clients – very few companies/jobs give people that exposure or opportunity. Client service is an art and no better place to master it than GLG; clients can be demanding and have high expectations of performance and responsiveness from GLG and good work will help one create professional relationships that will last a lifetime. Tough times typically reveal true character. The company’s actions during the current COVID crisis demonstrate employee-centric approach and the fact that leadership truly cares. Management has been very transparent with employees and communication has been solid. GLG’s social impact programs give each employee the opportunity to give back to the causes they care about in the time when they need it most. Things change frequently. Yeah, it's called continuous improvement! Every business aspires to be better and GLG is no different. If you are a current employee and have a point of view on things, I'd encourage you to openly speak to management as every opinion matters.

Pros

Overall - it was fun and exciting in the beginning then became exhausting and mundane. GLG hosts great happy hours where you will meet a lot of great people who will eventually turn into great friendships. Good job for post grads to get their feet wet.

Cons

I can agree with just about all the cons I read from the other reviews. I will add a few of my own 1. The recruiters do a horrible job at explaining this job/ tasks/ pay. During the interview process no one can give a clear answer about the pay and the commission structure. This can be a very high paying job but expect to work after and doing a lot of lead generation when you get home from work. 2. Managers will push and push for you to stay late yet they are always the first ones to leave. Managers will bribe treats and breakfast on some days in the AM for those who come early. 3. Managers are only worried about themselves and the numbers they have to turn into their direct managers and these numbers are the numbers the recruiters are bringing in. *the stress of this role is not worth it.
