Pros

Friendly coworkers (mostly out of college kids who do not know their worth), Remote work and no direction from leadership allows you to collect a paycheck and do nothing

Cons

Incompetent management, below-market pay, expectations of long hours with no reward or incentive, fake virtue signaling, twice a day team meetings to “check-in” and “check-out”, little to no autonomy regarding your own work-streams, micromanagement from senior staff who have no other real world job experience outside of GLG, “we are a family” red flag mentality, high turnover rate, mundane client work with no purpose

Pros

- A couple of counterparts and Manager were helpful. -Compensation package is average

Cons

The middle management at the company is terrible. The politics within the organisation was astonishing, and the way they treated staff at times was bad. Work life balance is non-existent. The turnover rates at this place is also high because from experience there were people micromanaging you, under the pretense of helping. When asking for help however, they ridiculed you.

GLG Response

We’re sorry to learn about your experience. Under no circumstances does GLG tolerate the behavior described in your post. If you have additional context to provide, please contact us directly by emailing HRSupport@glgroup.com so we can properly investigate. As a global company, we have numerous escalation points whereby employees can report such behavior. We are continually working to develop our managers (most of whom are promoted internally) to become the best leaders possible – and we listen carefully to feedback from GLGers like you to keep both sides accountable. We understand not everyone is right to lead a team, so we’ve created more opportunities for strong individual contributors to get promoted without taking on leadership responsibilities. Work-life balance in a remote work environment is at the forefront of our thinking right now, including making sure we're supporting teams when work volume spikes. While our GLG colleagues no doubt work hard, we are setting clearer expectations to promote time off the desk, including hard lines around holidays and weekends, to ensure individuals can take the time they need.

Pros

You will see the depths of badly managed company, good to learn "what not to do in your career"

Cons

For the sake of your Mental health, read this before you join. - Overworked and exhausted: 12 hour days if you want to reach your targets - Super low salary compared to what you have to deal with (actions to be taken within minutes, long working hours) - PSF clients will break your spirit in every possible way - Only repetitive work, half of which can be automated - Mid management are totally helpless (and some of them are genuinely good people who wants GLG to succeed) - no time for any other activity as the client work never stops. you will wake up to 100+ emails every morning - No bottoms up feedback culture
