I worked in newly set up division of finance SSC (2015) for about 3 years. Prior to shared services, branches accross India were doing same work. Since it was new set up there were no reference/glassdoor reviews to see inside company. However, after working there I listed few bullets to help you give a glimpse:
- G4S India is a part of worldwide known G4S group, but running own subsidiary (just like franchize business model) with no control or intervention from G4S UK. So, don’t get the idea that G4S India will behave as MNC rather more like a lala organization.
- All of the Leadership, managers, and TLs came from branches (viz some of them are from a local town branch in bihar). They just got lucky and get their reward of being in G4S from decades: promoted to SSC without any skill assesment. So don’t assume any professionalism, rather you will hear abusive language in office conversation/meetings.
- Because of branch operation experience, same culture is cultivated. You will observe toxic behaviour like micro management, abusive communication, lack of HR policies, politics etc.
- No one can help you from toxic managers, HR knows everything but is too corrupt. Infact HR will be your another problem if you discuss any issue to them.
- Job insecurity is at peak.
since all managers and leaders grew up in branches they know each other as best friends. So there is no way of feedback (nor will it matter) you will loose your job eventually.
- No skip meetings, no fun fridays, no appraisal assesment or discussion, short- it is no MNC at all.
- Single digit appraisal in consecutive years.
- Its not a friendly place for female employees, managers are lewd loose pants. There are handful of female employees left. Since most of the staff came from local branches they see female as another species, even senior manager will bully you on the floor just like roadside scoundrals (they even bully HR).
In one word: Do not work there unless you are jobless/homeless.
