Pros

-Overtime consistently available if desired and available to volunteer for it -Laid back working atmosphere and not a physically demanding job -Ideal for retirees who are looking for something to give them a sense of routine and get them out of the house/provide minimal supplemental income

Cons

-Lack of advancement opportunity within the company despite the company consistantly promoting otherwise -Low wages (especially for a company that requires a degree or previous law enforcement/military experience to be promoted to a higher position) -Employees are under-valued within the company and officers are viewed by corporate and remote office managment as basic post coverage versus valued security officers -Poor benefits package -Company's refusal to sponsor training to their officers unless the officer is being promoted into an exact position that requires the training, and even then they still make you pay for the DCJS registration fees. If you are seeking training provided by the company to improve your skills, for cross-training and your resume, they make you pay G4S for the classes and G4S won't pay you while you attend the classes -Training that is provided by the company is lousy, may not even pertain to your job and is administered in an exceptionally old school way (mostly all pen & paper with inconsequential tests, minimal e-courses) -Internal promoting structure within company far too limiting: in order to even be eligible for promotion you must either have ascertained a degree or have significant prior law enforcement or military experience. I am not opposed to celebrating these accomplishments by taking them into consideration for a promotion, but I am opposed to making the stipulation that these accomplishments are the complete basis and absolute requirement to be considered for any internal promotion -Remote company administrative management (office that manages the sites)- they are only ever involved with the security officers they employ at their contracted sites for human resources basic needs (i.e. payroll, uniforms acquisition/replacement, hiring/termination, etc.)

Pros

Great company to work for... excellent pay and benefits. Have had the opportunity to speak with and meet many wonderful and outstanding officers, supervisors, managers from the field and their nationwide and international offices. Continual paid training. Senior management seem to have concern for the employees in the department Open door policy with upper management.

Cons

Unfortunately there are people that do not represent the company as well as they should. Unfortunately there are clients and building employees that treat the communications department more like their personal secretary instead of what the communications department is there for and the manager allows this. Absolutely NO real formal training for this department. You must learn by doing. Absolutely NO advancement opportunities once you are in communications you are stuck in communications unless you know someone. The majority of the departments in HQ treat the communications department like dirt. Important information is RARELY updated by the manager or the other departments responsible. There is LITTLE communication between employees and the manager There is no recognition what so ever. You may as well be invisible. Be prepared to be used and abused. Manager of this department is in a good mood one moment the next she will be verbally abusive. Manager for this department needs to work on her people skills Manager for this department will fire someone for something trivial yet allow major incidences to be ignored. A huge double standard. The truth does not count in this department for anything at all. If you go to the manager with an issue, it falls on deaf ears and nothing is done. Extremely high call volume, high stress situations Supervisors do not know what they are doing most of the time, very little communication. Company policy is to have an exit review... I did not have one!!!

Pros

There were none other than the person will have a job..

Cons

No integrity. Backstabbing. No benefits. No support. They try to include the veterans salary as a part of "their" salary. Guards have to purchase their own uniforms and equipment. They can not take vacation until they have been employed for over one year.
