a company in decline

Pros

for some early career experience, and to gain industry knowledge for transfer to another job, fair amount of autonomy and learning but of your own initiative, not by design unfortunately.

Cons

it is a gossip mill, too much energy exhausted on internal conflicts, criticism and finger-pointing though it may be warranted, but it reveals a lack of leadership and too little accountability.

Good people, Bad structure, Awful management

Pros

If you are clever and self-motivated, you have the freedom to generate and develop new business initiatives. The work/life balance is great and the people who work at F&S are, by and large, a pretty talented bunch.

Cons

There are many downsides. For one, there is no career path. This is why talented people leave within 2-3 years of starting with F&S. The turnover is incredible. Even more incredible is management apathy toward the constant turnover. Management seems to ONLY care about revenue. Information sharing, internal systems, career advancement, ongoing training, transparency....white noise. Revenue is KING at F&S. There is no business planning, KPI's, corporate strategy, or anything remotely structured or organized. The organization is a chaotic mess led by a senior management team that could not find its way out of paper bag, let alone grow and compete with other analyst firms.
