Pros

There are some really nice, very talented people here—though it is getting less and less as time goes by because they are leaving in mass and taking their knowledge, which was never valued. It is very hard to work collaboratively and mentor because we are all so overworked, demoralized and miserable due to the lack of leadership.

Cons

Engineers and other technical folks are leaving in mass, especially in Development and Manufacturing. The only professionals left are newly hired college graduates or people who have less than 5 years before retirement--but even they are looking for a way out. No training. No development. No growth. No chance of success. No future. After a couple of years, the fresh-out-of-college graduates will get what they want and leave. There certainly is no development or growth potential for more senior employees. The Director of Operations is an oppressive micromanager, creating mistrust, disrespect and poor communication. People are not valued. We are nothing more than a ‘means to an end’ for the Director of Operations. The Director of Operations is accountable to no one in regards to the poor culture he has created the past 2 years. HR Director and CEO know about this but it must be ok since production is the only thing that matters. Quality is worse than poor. Yearly sales records are touted but no mention of the HUGE percentage of scrap generated. It’s all about production and revenue. FM infrastructure is lacking and so are the people to support long-term growth and innovation. Sr. Engineers are blamed for not doing work of their caliber when, in actuality, the Director of Operations and HR have done nothing to support this. We spend too much time overseeing production in the day-to-day operations because there are not enough operation and maintenance technicians to support this activity. Customers are promised volumes that in no way can be supported with current staffing. Lots of broken promises. Lots of issues with payroll: 2 HSA contributions were missed in 2022--eventually credited; overcharged for dental throughout the year until Aug 2022 when it was corrected. A new vacation policy was announced in July 2021 for 2022. Vacations were not correct in the system until Sep 2022 (4Q2022!). Five extra days of PTO (annually) were promised—written into the official vacation policy--to people who worked prior to Nov 2021 as a ‘thank you’ for working during Covid 19 pandemic, but that was revoked by HR Director after VP quit. Unethical! Even more mistakes for hourly paychecks. Examine every paycheck closely.

Pros

Everyones ideas are heard and considered here. If you have the tenacity, you can initiate and improve procedures and organization. Beautiful location.

Cons

Company seems to be faced with a crisis of resources. Many new (and old) initiatives are overwhelming current capacity...resulting in frustration and burnout and increasing turnover. Old issues not being attended to while business rolls on and management is continually forced to make due. Comparing to other younger (and older?) companies where the CEO or GM is there day-to-day with the departments, communicating vision and actually supporting the team from the ground up, this company is currently a ship with no rudder.

Pros

Overall, a company that means well. Started as a small business with good core values, and has tried to maintain those as it grows. Lots of long-time (20+ years) employees, a stable company, and a market leader with rapid growth. Good with providing training and lots of opportunities for internal promotions.

Cons

Compensation not on par with industry averages, and a few "roadblocks" in middle management. Some managers are better than others, but some fail to recognize or work to retain and/or reward talent.
