      Pros

      The property is beautiful and has a few nice, hardworking people

      Cons

      Management and HR constantly trying to take out people they don't like, managers were either young/unexperienced or trying to be hard to impress corporate for a raise. It made for a poor functioning hotel

      Golden Rule - applied to guests, not employees

      Coworkers are some of the most wonderful people & feel like family; benefits are wonderful; paid competitively

      Cons

      Repeated issues of saying one thing, doing another; recently more concerned about quantity than quality; One coworker recently stated 'The reason they pay well is so they can take advantage of us'; Significantly reduced hours, with middle management expected to pick up the work; F & B departments rarely are able to take breaks, and making up the 'overtime' at the end of the week by cutting hours; staff stretched very thin to create a memorable experience, but very few employees are genuinely happy; mistrust in upper management; Room for growth in culinary is rare and advancements in status and pay are minimal when it happens.

      We appreciate your feedback on our hotel. I am sorry to hear that - while you feel we have done well in a few areas - you have experienced several challenges within the department. Please know that we hold the highest standards to providing a positive work environment, and it is unfortunate that this has not been your experience. In addition, we realize the first quarter in Chicago can see less visitors and this has, unfortunately, effected our staffing. We attempt to take a balanced approach when scheduling, but it seems here, we have missed the mark. More importantly, we strive to provide a leadership team that promotes learning opportunities and is transparent in communication. If you feel this is not the case, I would encourage you to contact me. We want to address employees' concerns head on and make changes in order to deliver on our promises.       Pros

      Free meals, decent pay, good benefits, complimentary nights (if you can get them). Beautiful properties. A lot of great people working with you.

      Cons

      Disrespect, a lot of stress, gaps in communication, bad leadership. Everything is taken for granted. Golden rule is never applied
