Pros

Meet people the exception to this half of them are mgmt and they are all terrible. The money you make is no where near worth your happiness. Something you will not find at Four Seasons.

Cons

I don't know where they find these people that run nearly every department. Mgmt does not care about you, they will show you how I appreciated you are at every opportunity.

Pros

Good Salary and a prestigious company name.

Cons

I would like to particularly speak about FS in Prague - restaurant Cottocrudo. It was actually the worst place I have been working for in my career. Even though I made nice money, it did not compensate for all the negative experiences. I was made us work on many occasions 10 days in a row, back to back shifts (against the law btw!!!!). I couldn't believe it was happening in such a company. I couldn't say no and was told that if I don't like it then I can go to work somewhere else. Even the higher management didn't care about these illegal work conditions but in fact only cared about their immediate positions. I was not obviously the only one who had to work this unbelievable shifts. Quite often as a result of those shifts I was really tired and it left me with bad health conditions as a result. This then led to obvious mistakes in orders (for which we were punished by paying the bill of the guest where the mistake was made) - But simply we were just incredibly tired.. From the professional point I did not learn anything new compared to my previous jobs at other 5 star hotels. They really don't treat u how they want to be treated (their motto). It is all about who knows who & for how long. There was a complete lack of justice and mainly huge disrespect to the line staff from supervisors. I met incredibly kind, hard working, dedicated and nice people there such as my former colleagues who left also sooner or later. Unfortunately i witnessed many situations where we clearly saw managers with a lack of experience and chefs without basic knowledge of working coorperation between service and kitchen staff. And without real knowledge of time dining. But I also will never forget those individuals , who consciously made life at work of other people unnecessarily hard and managers who were aware of the degrading treatment of staff but did nothing to address it. For the sake of the name of such a great company this behaviour should not continue. Continually supporting them in this bad acting should not be allowed.

Pros

The company sounds good on your resume. Great health benefits package. Free complimentary nights Free meals Line staff people are great until they lose their motivation Good 401K match for 5% of your salary you get 4% matching (free money)

Cons

Low pay for the mid-level managers. For example, guest services manager are making around 60k while working 12-14 hours a day and stay on call on their weekends. So forget about your family holidays and weekends. Free complimentary nights are rarely available/ or available during off season. You are more than welcome to visit Miami during hurricane season or Damascus in Syria during the war. No appreciation for extra efforts. No empowerment or trust from the upper management for the line staff. The managers always think that they know better and get on the way of the experienced associates. Free meals are decent during mon- fri....However; they are horrible during the weekends (why care if most of the managers are not there). The management always emphasizes its superiority. Usually they have 10-15 manager's outing at the company's expense during a year while the line staff employees have only one.
