Pros

9-5; work life balance is good. Wont be called off hours or really expected to work past 5PM. This is a place you can slowly melt away into obscurity if that is what you want.

Cons

No-one has a clue. Directors “work” from home 4+ days a week. By work I mean hit the spa and golf course. No accountability or managing of employees. No vision, planning and poor execution across the board. Not much work gets done. When it does it is poorly planned and redone multiple times. No communication or guidance. Stuck with people who have been there 20+ years and are stuck in a pre tech mindset. If you are a self starter or have any ambition of any kind this is NOT the place for you.

Pros

- Good insurance, benefits, and bonuses. - Free Pop

Cons

- No diversity whatsoever within upper leadership or b-level or c-level roles. Lacks of diversity beyond HR and mail room jobs. No initiatives to increase or address the level of minorities or women in leadership or management roles. - A total lack of career growth and advancement. Total buddy-buddy system in place. Management dishonest and somewhat manipulative about promotions or opportunities. Basically, this is a place where you go to retire or start your career. Negotiate early before starting. - Far too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Too many folks with the title of director or associate director. At any given point, you could be reporting to four or five different directors/managers and doing the work of four people. - Unhealthy work-life balance at varying times. Upper management often has unrealistic and unhealthy expectations for small teams and too much responsibility placed on top performers to carry the team. Team members get the feeling of that they are being treated like commodities and not valued. - Antiquated software systems, IT policies, and software and data architectures. Years behind the curve of what other companies have implemented.

Pros

They will hire anyone, good holidays, free stationery, nice people, strong position in a monopoly market, pay for CFA, interesting work

Cons

NO career progression, very high staff turnover, low low pay, they will hire anyone, do not tackle the many underachievers, invisible senior management (link that to senior level underachievers). Do not join even if you are unemployed take your chances in an organisation that values your work output and does not desperately search for irrelevant press headlines from flawed research and forgets what the clients pay us to do.
