Cog in machine. Institutionalized bullying

Pros

Co workers are usually nice

Cons

Fitch used every opportunity to belittle employees. Employees are seen as completely replaceable and their concerns do not matter. Certain managers at all levels are protected by higher ups—they are bullies and despite repeated complaints about behavior, bad behavior is rewarded. Protected employees receive insane bonuses, perks and congratulations while every employee below them is nickel and dimed, suffering and looking for a new job. The bureaucracy is absurd

Pros

Used to be a long list of great benefits, all of which have been scaled back considerably-health care, subsidized gym membership and more recently vacation time.

Cons

U.S. morale at an all-time low as seasoned American employees get taken out slowly and silently one by one. Unending pattern of London employee being brought in to head or co-head, leading to the ultimate dismissal of high ranking U.S. managers. What used to be the best rating agency to work for under Steve Joynt has transformed itself into a sub par, less than inspiring bastion of Ego wielding, power hungry and incompetent 'leaders'.

Thank you for taking the time to share this review. From a competitive standpoint, Fitch attracts incredibly competent individuals at all levels to complement our talented team. In recent years the firm has reshaped the management team by both promoting internal leaders and hiring industry and domain experts, while remaining committed to rotating employees globally to enhance their career experience and benefit to the firm. By virtually any objective measure, Fitch today is a stronger company than it was a decade ago. Fitch is known for offering a very competitive benefits package, and it is also true that the complexion of those benefits has changed in recent years. For example, in 2017 the cost of employee medical premiums increased significantly – whereas the cost of other benefits such as dental, vision and gym membership did not. Other benefits like backup childcare in the U.S. will be enhanced in 2018 at no additional cost to employees. While our benchmarking continues to rank Fitch ahead of industry peers, we are committed to ensuring our benefits package remains a positive differentiator.

Pros

Fitch was known for its work / life balance but no longer after Hearst bought out the company. Too many middle managers trying to ingratiate themselves to the new owners. Training for junior analysts has improved over my tenure, but time would be better spent using Fitch to get an MBA and/or a CFA, the. Leaving after 2-3 years.

Cons

Highly political environment especially in corporate finance. Weak, naive management favor their clique and retaliate at those not falling at their heels. As senior analysts are forced out and junior analyst gain their experience then leave, management is at a loss as why they cannot maintain loyalty. Over my 10+ years, the company has become a toxic cesspool headed by mysogynistic megalomaniacs.
