Lack of WFH a real dealbreaker

Pros

My team and our supervisor are great. My director is OK. It's good when they are hands-off and let us do our work rather than trying to micromanage through Sapience and badge swipes.

Cons

Lower management is great, but the higher up the chain you go the worse it gets. I could handle all the other BS (layoffs, understaffing, and undertraining, etc) if they'd just bring back WFH/hybrid (at least 50%) options, but morale has just gone down the toilet with their ridiculous RTO policies. I don't want a new job, but I just can't do the old 5 days in the office thing anymore. I feel like they are forcing my hand.

Pros

Colleagues, knowledgeable manager and unlimited PTO

Cons

Out of touch CEO with a broad of director's and senior leadership to intimidated to stand up to tell Frank he is way behind in today's culture. They are literally letting the knowledge walk out the door because folks are just sick of the circus.

Pros

This company has unique problems to solve, such as how to manage the 10+ payment gateways they own because they buy up competition instead of driving innovation. Upon acquisition the melding of the smaller companies until the giant takes time, so once you are acquired you have time until the true suck of this place sinks in.

Cons

Grind house culture, management has done a good job of normalizing long hours and unreasonable project time tables. Company is constantly pushing distinct groups together to collaborate on projects (a side effect of their purchasing smaller competitors and needing to place their new staff in existing projects), rarely do those groups share the same management hierarchy so when disagreements happen there is no clear direction. Having a kid? Expect to have a rep call you hours after your baby is born to answer their silly questions as part of the process to approve your paternity/maternity leave. Ridiculous internal red tape. Want to get access to anything? Well fill out these forms in this poorly designed internal website with information that you’ll have to ask your manager how to fill out, and good luck if you get a field wrong that’s another 3 day turnaround once they tell you how to fix it. Generally crappy place to work, is bad for your mental and physical health.
