Pros

Better than unemployed Many really nice people--don't know how Fiserv has kept many of them as long as it has Looks good on paper

Cons

HORRIBLE pay LOUSY benefits CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP Pay starts low and stays low. No merit increases for years, then 1% 6 months late Employee reviews seem to come around every other day, though they're semi-annual: provides fodder for dismissals. Many idiots have been there for years, and thrive.

Pros

free bagels, pizzas and left overs from management meetings. work from home forever. no one will ask you where you are.

Cons

No promotions. No merrit increases. Bonus is only on paper. Too much process overkill. Almost every year projects are thrown back to shelf that was considered the best the previous year. Too many re-orgs every year. Not much technology growth. Divisions do not help each other or co-ordinate. lay offs every year.

Pros

The company doesn't look too bad on a resume; it has the kind of reputation that makes other companies want to pilfer it for good staff. Company is completely incapable of moving in the correct direction because they have a elaborately diversified product portfolio and they are not willing to shake things up sufficiently to actually make change. They will also need to invest a huge amount of money to provide the kind of consistent product delivery channel they are promising their customers. The stock price has managed to stay fairly consistent as of late. Vague contracts keep clients locked into their product purchases. Dilbert is relevant almost every single day. This company was the inspiration for the movie "Office Space"

Cons

FIserv 2.0 is a shady marketing attempt at change they won't invest in. Outsourcing is alienating much of the client base. None of the various holdings work together, most of the business units don't communicate at all and constantly point fingers at one another. Management rarely communicates to the staff about anything and is discouraged from presenting the truth. There isn't a consistent training program across all business units and they actually charge customers for their crappy attempts at software training. Salary and Benefits package is the joke of the industry, and there is no consistency between business units. Salary is a big dirty secret because they are cheap. Their only concern is money, someday they will have to realize that the employees should be happy, otherwise things are just going to keep going to crap.
