Pros

Since the acquisition and merger with First Data; none.

Cons

Fiserv is reverting to antiquated work/life balance polices such as; installing mandatory spyware to track all employee activites, as well as eliminating all remote work opportunities

Top-Down Leadership, Big Changes in Culture

Pros

They hire a diverse group, interns, those who need sponsorship, people new to their careers will have a chance and build resume at Fiserv. Around 90% of jobs are full-time with benefits, vacation, sick time. Some teams/leaders care a great deal about quality/client experience. Company places high value on health. Opportunity to own stock at 10% discount. Not all divisions are affected by the merger; some remain strong with original Fiserv leadership. It is a job that pays the bills and the workload for most is reasonable. Stock is doing great due to strong focus on bottom line and opening up to more associates.

Cons

Merger last July is changing the culture and the way we work. We used to have remote work and hire across the USA the last 4 years, many amazing workers. No more. Apply if you live near a Fiserv site only, expect to be onsite, closely monitored by new First Data management, who have a dictator-style - My Way or You are Fired. Also, do not expect to move within the company unless you are willing to relocate and live near another Fiserv office. Many Fiserv leaders have been replaced by First Data leaders where the businesses intersect, mostly in Card Services. This return to onsite/local work is limiting the applicant pool severely to lower-quality, less-experienced candidates. Do not plan to retire from Fiserv or stay a long time. Go for the opportunity, build your resume up and move on to a company that will appreciate you financially and long-term. Talented people are within and often promoted without raises - no financial reward and increased hours. Global teams may mean working all hours of the day for some positions. Any jobs that can be out-sourced or off-shored...will be, so no stability. Expect your role to be completely different in 1-2 years. Many jobs have no career development plans and technologies that do not match current practices...beware. When those people are laid off...their skills do not match the current industry.

Fiserv is not the most friendliest companies to work for

Pros

Good compensation and flexibility

Cons

Dysfunctional work environment, poor management, and workplace harassment. An employee who left the company last year warned me that the manager I worked for was difficult to work with and was the main reason he left Fiserv. It was all true as the manager allowed workplace harassment to go on for months before I decided it was enough. The team I worked for was under staff and under a lot of stress and often acted unprofessionally. Lashing out employees in a disrespectful manner and getting into arguments. After numerous attempts to remedy the situation, I decided it was time to leave a very bad situation. This company is not one of the friendliest companies. It is one of the most prejudice and dysfunctional companies I have ever seen. If you want to work here make sure get on the right team with a good manager that respects diversity and does not cater to one race.
