Pros

Personable & positive co-workers. Friendly & helpful group of people.

Cons

Division instability, too much turnover at in upper management, corruption, lack of opportunity, extremely political, lack of autonomy with decisions in North Anerica being made overseas, bureaucratic organization with many processes, business decisions made by management seem to be made out of emotion instead of reason. Long hours & lots of travel is expected in many positions & not appreciated. Hard work is not appreciated but expected 24/7. Many long term high performing employees are fired for no apparent reason which causes more discouragement & low employee morale. After just a couple short years I have had enough & am seeking employment elsewhere.

Pros

Free work shirts, above avaerage health benefits. Free water. Bathrooms sometimes work. The idiots you work with often make funny, loud noises.

Cons

When I would meet people away from work and they would ask, "Where do you work?" I was embarrassed to say Faureica. Not that they ever heard of the company, but, they would then ask, "Oh, so, how do you like it?" So, I could lie and say it was wonderful, or, I could tell them the truth. Seven day work weeks. 16 hour days. No overtime or compensation for hours put in. I worked at Franklin, Oh for three years until quitting and finding another Tier I job. I waited three months before writing this review as I wanted any bitterness to be smoothed from my system. It is horrible at FECT. The corporation, from the clowns in France, to the blind stooges in N.A. are clueless. The plant management is no better. If you are interviewing, and the person across from you is very large, near obese, and seemingly under-educated, that is a hint that you are in the presense of one of the half-wits that are running the place. Ask them how many people have quit recently. Ask them why they lost their Q1 status. Ask them how many hours you will work. You will be lied to and the answer will be "Things are getting better." They are not. They are getting worse. Everything is done on the cheap. The equipment is old. The people are old and the building is old. The ideas are old. Do not take a job here. Unless you are starving, take the job and keep looking. There have been supervisors that have started and then quit after two weeks or a month. That is very, very common. The idiot that runs NA will say things like, "I really believe that FECT has the greatest people in the WORLD!". What else is the idiot suppsoed to say? Why doesn't he address the horrible service level or the people that are quitting constantly. Shame on him. DO NOT TAKE A JOB HERE. Yes, it is that bad.

Pros

Good people to work with (I’m referring ONLY to your U.S. peers), the French management structure and culture ties back to the 1700s, an aristocracy. If you are not French, and did not attend the right school, you will remain a worker bee regardless of your skills, how hard you work, or what you accomplish. Know that going in and you will not be disappointed.

Cons

Rule 1: get anything you are promised in writing, lots of talk, low or no integrity, and their word is worthless. It will be like WWII again, you save their butts, they ignore your contribution, and then take the credit. IT management routinely goes back on promises made, unless of course, your French. Rule 2: Don't waste your time, move on. Most of the good people have fled the company, completely fed up with the French BS.
