Pros

Metavante is a bit above average - there seems to be legit concern for the employees on the part of senior management, but it is still a business in 21st century America so it isn't a worker's paradise by any stretch of the imagination. Immediate team is currently very good, we had some really bad management in the past, but this was recognized and the former team was ousted and new, far superior management brought in.

Cons

People are disposable, lots of mini-layoffs. They will at times lay someone off while there are three openings for the same position in the same department. They could do a much better job of trying to find new positions within the company, rather than just letting them go.

Pros

Many dedicated and hardworking people to be associated with. The facilities are not bad and kept up for the most part with some minor wear and tear. There have been a lot of opportunities to travel in the past but that seems to be ending as well as the company moves more toward using offshore resources.

Cons

There is an overall Lack of management support for employees across many different levels. There is also little or no communication from management about different things going on within and outside of your department such as employee promotions or job changes. The pay is some what low compared to other companies if you haven't been with them since day 1. There is little opportunity for advancement and typlically no funds for employee training.

Pros

Flexible work schedule and ablility to work remotely.

Cons

Lack of incentive programs and minimal annual increases that barely match inflation. The companies primary focus at the moment is to increase the stock price. Employees and their retention are not the current focus and will not be in the near future. It appears the company may be dividing up into part for a potential sale. I would be cautious about considering this a company to lay down roots in, but instead it would be best to use it as a place to gain experience and move on to somewhere more appreciative of your contributions.
