Pros

Excellent pay, benefits and job security. The chance to see something meaningful for the flying public happen because of you and the people working around you. Union representation to minimize arbitrary managerial harms to the employee.

Cons

Frequently stressful training program. Occasionally stressful working environment. Knowing that you are the front line of political disputes over how federal employees are treated, especially those with union representation.
