Pros

Great salary with great benefits. Retirement is at 56 yrs old. Holiday pay are the best with double pay and if you have to work Sundays you get an extra 25%.

Cons

The workforce is understaffed. The hiring process is very slow and getting fully certified takes about two years.

Pros

Job security and opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Decent salaries for average workers. Salaries less competitive for people at the top of the hierarchy.

Cons

Bureaucracy and autocratic management style that does not fit in the 21st century. Given this environment, the agency will not be able to retain the best and the brightest millennials and next generation workers when boomers retire. The agency will not be able to be competitive for workers in a good market. .
