Pros

Get all of the perks of federal employment plus a quality pension.

Cons

The agency is understaffed and backfilling for the shortage with quite a bit of mandatory overtime. Additionally, the standard for CPC qualifications seems to have been lowered. The high standard, pride and dignity in the On The Job Training process has declined and it’s noticeable in the newer wave of generational controllers. Sadly, with us being in the aviation safety profession, this compromise could be detrimental to the NAS, National Air Space.
