People will do whatever they can to get ahead, including throwing others under the bus. Actually, there were plenty of people now in supervisory positions who climbed their way to the top by whatever means possible. Strict ranking system discourage helping peers and folks aren’t as likely to help unless they get some credit. All in all, terrible work environment. Most people I know who still work there are looking into leaving, which says a lot considering their salary/benefits/etc. very political and a lot of snakes in the grass that you need to constantly be on watch for.
