Pros

Competitive Compensation: The company offers relatively competitive pay, which adds to the appeal of working here.

Cons

Unfair Employee Evaluation Process: The employee evaluation process is shockingly unreasonable and biased. It relies heavily on supervisor input, often undermining the hard work employees put in. The fact that an entire year's rating determines employment status is a recipe for unjust outcomes and frustration. Decline in Healthy Competition: The once-healthy competition within ExxonMobil has deteriorated into a toxic, cutthroat atmosphere. This harmful environment not only damages employee well-being but also hampers overall productivity. Inconsistent Work Flexibility: The promise of workplace flexibility is a far cry from reality, as it depends largely on individual managers' whims. This inconsistency can be maddening for employees seeking work-life balance. Disregard for Experienced Employees: The company's blatant disregard for the value of long-serving, experienced employees is disheartening. It's baffling to see less-experienced individuals taking on supervisory roles over dedicated, decades-long employees. Disconnect from Employee Expertise: Employees often feel undervalued, with their educational backgrounds and experience seemingly overlooked. The absence of a structured career development path only exacerbates this frustration. In summary, this company's flaws, including its unjust evaluation process, toxic culture, and disregard for experienced employees, have significantly tarnished the overall work experience. The decline in company culture is a worrying trend that urgently requires attention and improvement.

Pros

For the most part, great people. You live in a bubble of the smartest folks out there and if you are lucky work on first of a kind incredible projects.

Cons

You never feel like you have a safe job. Between year to year ranking and offshoring of jobs to save money, even well ranked employees wonder when their time will come. There are so many layers of management with low thresholds for taking decisions up. People are either fearful to take things forward or it takes months (years) longer than needed.
