Pros

working in leisure is an enjoyable environment. within our centre I was blessed to work with some of the kindest people I have ever met and made friends for life.

Cons

The phrase 'boys club' would be an understatement. working specifically in the North West Leicestershire contract it was blatantly obvious that progressive roles would be gifted to those deemed worthy not on merit but by how well they fit in. the culture of promiscuity is in-bedded in the centres and a lads code of don't tell is followed. I unfortunately left the organisation on the back of a sexual harrassment incident, this was subsequently brushed under the carpet by multiple levels of management, it was abundantly clear that they either didn't believe me, or simply didn't care. I was told on multiple occasions by senior management that the manager who allegedly up skirted me would have no issues to work with me, no consideration was given as to how I would feel. if your a 'lads lad' this is the place for you!

Pros

Free gym membership and discounted coffee

Cons

Poor pay, worse management! Absolute disgrace of a company, still treat staff as if there are no employment laws. Have to completely organise yourself in sense of holiday and shift management as managers don't follow any policy. Racism and sexism is rife throughout. I left this job to be unemployed and now am in a hugely better position; Everyone Active destroyed my mental health. It was the best decision I ever made!

Pros

Large company with options to relocate around the country, if you wanted to. Very good with health and safety procedures, majority of processes ready to be implemented.

Cons

Very sales driven. Targets, KPIs and profits are prioritised over colleagues and members. Sales team expected to give up personal time on end of month. You're expected to check and respond to emails when you're off or on annual leave. The company is very clique, you don't really progress unless you know someone in a senior role. Salary is always advertised as 'competitive' however, the pay doesn't justify the work you're required to do, or the extra time you work without pay. It's frown upon to claim for time worked outside of your contracted hours. There is no such thing as work life balance: you're expected to work day all the time and not be paid for it.
