Contract work

Pros

Pay was always on time. I used to have one of the best recruiters. Very upfront and would give me warnings when the non-contract managers were being less than fair.

Cons

the benefits are far from satisfactory contract work was supposed to be set to a certain amount of time before permanent status would be granted, but that time frame was very far outside of what was quoted.

Pros

I have always considered myself to be a hard worker and at Apex Systems I am rewarded for that—both financially and with career growth. The goals are clearly established and as long as you are working to hit those goals, Apex will take the time to develop you. Management will tailor their management styles to meet the needs of each individual employee. If you prove yourself to be hard-working and responsible, you will not be micromanaged. If you are struggling and need more attention, management will be extra involved. All of our office gets along extremely well and it’s refreshing to have supportive co-workers around in a hard staffing industry. A huge perk of working for Apex, is our commission structure. I’ve compared the Apex commission structure against many of our competitors and Apex is, by far, the most competitive. I’ve seen many people hit the six-figure income mark within the first 3 years of working here.

Cons

The staffing industry is tough. It’s highly competitive and you have to work really hard to be successful. When people leave Apex, I find that it’s often the industry they do not like rather than Apex. If you work hard, have a high level of resiliency and love money, Apex is for you!

A mixed bag

Pros

Offers good opportunities for entry level IT jobs. The recruiter and staff were very straight forward and helpful. The job itself was very open ended in the approach you chose to complete work. Monthly work status reports were required with goals to reach each month.

Cons

The pay was low for the area I worked in. After talking to coworkers I realized I had been undersold pretty severely on my contract. No paid holidays the health benefits were not very good. When it came to hiring overseas Apex had no clue what they were doing. I was moved to my location and was unclear to work for about 7 months. However, I was still paid. Shortly after I started working the contract was terminated. I would have greatly appreciated the opportunity to validate the contract with good work and results. I feel that chance was not provided to me or to our clients at the time.
