Pros

Peers and colleagues were fantastic.

Cons

The merger with On Assignment along with key internal Organizational and cultural changes were traumatic. Staffing traditionally has high attrition rates but other management moves at the time were puzzling and problematic. I hope the organization is beyond this now.

Pros

Well defined expectations in the hiring process. Diverse array of optional training made available to contractors. Contractor Care hotline to help with any problems. Very Responsive recruitment staff.

Cons

You may end up reporting in multiple systems. Apex's system and the contractor's system. Little IRL contact with supervisors. Most if not all is over the phone or in e-mail.(nature of the beast) Contract jobs end too soon, but I knew that going in. (see pros) Only verifies employment...No recommendation for good performance unless it's for another Apex job.

Pros

Great Company overall, great team in Richmond office. The rapid growth over the last decade is a testament to the solid work the founders put in. I was lucky to start my career there.

Cons

Apex is a place to start your career, work with driven, competitive people and make a good living. Staff Aug Recruiting is a grind. If you have aspirations to grow in your career, have diversity of responsibility, upward mobility you'll have to go elsewhere. The job is what it is, for better or worse and a lot of top performers get stuck in the trap of pricing themselves out of the external market and being trapped in a role that will never change. They'll tell you it will, but it won't and being promoted to Account Manager is not based on performance, it's based on how much you hate recruiting or how willing you are to take the worst accounts.
