Pros

Great people you work with, albeit its a young company they hire new grads so you won't find many tenured employees unless they are higher ups.

Cons

Training is boring, turnover is high, must meet call metrics and goals.

Pros

Even if you are "over-qualified" for some of their positions they will take you. In this day and age when people are looking for any job just to make something, that means a lot. Another plus is, for a staffing/temping agency, they have benefits. Other similar agencies or companies don't offer benefits.

Cons

Pay can be very minimal. You are paid according to the requirements of the clients they support and not an across the board rate. I started at $18/hr for my first project. My next one was only $11/hr! Though the recruiters say contact them one month out when / before assignment is about to end, you really can't predict how long the client will actually need you. My first client said they will need us for 6 months when it was only 3 WEEKS they needed us!

Pros

Working for APEX on the NMCI/NGEN will show you what the bottom of the barrel IT job really is. You will strive to be better and work for better companies or just get out of the IT field all together.

Cons

The turnover on the NMCI/NGEN contract is unreal due to how bad the contract was written, management decisions and only looking out for the company and not considering the employee at all. Not only does APEX have no concern for traveling IT techs but they agree to contracts with so much red tape that make filing travel claims virtually impossible for the tech to receive money back. As a traveling tech for APEX expect to spend your savings to live off of while on travel but don't expect to be reimbursed for a good chuck of it when you file your travel claim later. They make money on the backs of traveling techs then turn around and spit in their face when they ask to be reimbursed. To be told that you only get compensated for gas as long as you travel over 50 miles one way or have to travel 50 miles to work then turn around and travel another 50 miles from your office out to a site and still not receive compensation for gas or a rental car is unbelievable, however this is standard excepted practice at APEX. On top of all of this the benefit package offered by APEX is a joke at best. If they can nickel and dime it, APEX will!! Then they turn around and blame it on how the contract was written and not the inability of management to look out for the people working on the contract.
