Pros

They were friendly to deal with on phone.

Cons

This was an experience to be noted. I was given an offer to be at a major client, and the concern was that I was in another state, that if I am late to office once I could be fired. They assured me that it wouldn't happen, so on my 1st day flying into client - the security GSA terminal had issues, and a lot of people missed the flight. I called the APEX Manager made him aware of the issue, at 11:30am I received a call from him and was terminated even before I stepped in the door. Should have known better and trusted my instincts in the beginning. This deal felt very "Thrifty" and the unprofessional outcome is all I have to measure them by. So if you ever get a call from APEX Systems in Milwaukee be very careful you might be terminated before you plane lands.

Pros

Excellent training, refined processes and great introduction to the staffing industry. The company is doing great as a whole, although my office was way behind company performance averages and suffered serious morale issues. It has a young go-getter culture with occasional fun events for employees. However, Apex will take advantage of people's lack of industry knowledge and ambitions, making them think it is great there when I can tell you they are WAY behind their competition in how their people are treated/compensated.

Cons

Horrible pay scale relative to the staffing industry, a lot of saying one thing then doing another (e.g. overtime pay - yeah we pay overtime! haha don't even try). Constant micromanagement like I've never seen, "ra-ra-ra!" grey corporate environment with almost no investment in their offices or their people. I once sat in a 30-minute meeting in the middle of the day so my boss could explain, and then demonstrate the "proper" way to roll up the sleeves of our shirts...yes this actually happened. Just when you thought the type of soul crushing corporate culture satirized in movies like Office Space was gone, rest assured it's alive and well at Apex.

Pros

Gives you great IT Recruiting experience and the skills transfer very well elsewhere

Cons

There’s favoritism amongst the account managers, and recruiters too. I was a favored recruiter and was still fired once my Performance dipped in the pandemic. Clearly submitting candidates to a VMS is not a sustainable way to make commission or a career yet they made it seem like if you just work hard, you’ll make money. A lot of it is out of your control so that’s just not true.
