Pros

Large Company with cash in the bank due to deep pocketed owners (a multinational). Used to be Lafarge owned and operated (the "good old days"). Good product that sells itself at a premium price. No problem meeting Payroll (although they always seem to mess up your overtime).

Cons

They know how to attract top talent (talk a good fight, promise you the earth, moon and stars, etc.), but just can't retain them. They state they want the best people for the job, but then ignore, frustrate, undermine and demotivate them until they leave. The dead wood that remains in charge is killing the company. More meetings take place than you would believe. Nothing meaningful is ever achieved. It's very much a 'fear and blame culture', with over-paid and lazy senior Managers, that don't care about anything but themselves, simply maintaining enough apparent activity to rake in their fat cheques whilst doing as little as possible. Short-sighted Management style. Morale is virtually non-existent. A recent Best Companies type survey result was frankly damning and has been hushed up Management in a constant state of denial and disassociation. Bullying Senior Managers get HR to dish out Disciplinaries to staff (as a control by fear mechanism) who can't cope with ever increasing and often unrealistic workloads, mainly due to ever increasing delegation by lazy Managers who sit around drinking coffee/tea fetched by errand boys/girls whilst they bark out orders, full of their own importance, belittling and talking down to lesser staff, whilst they themselves cherry pick the tasks they fancy, take credit for the hard work, ideas and efforts of lesser staff, whilst surfing the web, watching sport, reading e-mails, watching internet videos, booking holidays and flicking through screens and shuffling paper pretending to 'work' when spotted. Anyone with any spark in them gets disillusioned and inevitably moves on. We witnessed some excellent people who were excellent hires, bright, committed and hard-working, very good at their work and got along with people well, etc., arrive positive and motivated and leave disillusioned and negative. Investigate the high churn rate on new employees yourself, which says everything. Many return to their former employers (as have I), and generally leave not long after they have successfully completed probation. These are excellent people working under poor Management who no longer see a positive reason to stay. Siniat is a Space Shuttle Piloted by Monkeys. NB: Seem to treat their suppliers with similar distain.

Pros

Food van, spacy canteen to hide at lunches

Cons

Management is awful. Micromanages, manipulates, gas lights, goes out of way to effect mental health, bullies, lies about opportunities that never appear.

Pros

Average pay and benefits. High potential industry

Cons

- I have seen 3 of my colleagues fall due to burnout and management lie about their condition. - Internal whistleblowers are fired within 24 hours, without notice. Which given Etex's legacy, is not a good sign. - It is wide spread that the company suffers cashflow issues every once in a while (but nobody is supposed to know), despite having passed all inflationary costs successfully. Fear always trickles down quickly (purposely so by some incompetent managers) only to effect the least advantaged employees. - lack of internal human resources procedures to deal with all of the mentioned issues. - (senior) IT executives openly expresses their racism to people of color. Seem to be untouchable.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We take all feedback seriously, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Addressing your specific concerns: • Employee Wellbeing: We are deeply concerned about the claims of employee mistreatment. We prioritise employee wellbeing, as reflected in our Culture and Values (https://www.etexgroup.com/en/join-our-team/culture-and-values/.) We have a zero-tolerance policy for retaliation and encourage open communication. Our value driven culture should ensure teammates at Etex feel safe when raising concerns without fear of repercussions. • Internal Whistleblowing: We have a dedicated whistleblower hotline, available for all teammates globally, and established procedures for reporting concerns. We investigate all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action. Terminating employees within 24 hours for whistleblowing is strictly against company policy. • Financial Transparency: We strive for financial transparency; we are debt free and like many businesses maintain a working capital to provide free cash flow. The current commercial outlook, in particular for construction, is weak however Etex Group is committed to long-term stability. We will raise your point with our teams to see what additional communications could be considered to keep all teammates informed. • Internal HR Procedures: We acknowledge the feedback on HR procedures. We are continuously improving our internal processes to ensure they are efficient and compliant with employment laws. • Diversity and Inclusion: Etex Group is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We take allegations of racism very seriously. We would like to actively work to address the concerns raised in this review. We encourage you and all our employees to utilise our internal reporting mechanisms to raise concerns directly. Alternatively, please use our third-party whistleblower hotline, details can be found on Etex Core, our intranet, and in our code of conduct. We believe in open communication and value your continued feedback.
