Pros

Industry leader with products and technologies. Large network of very experienced and talented contributors. Majority of employees are very proud of the work they do at the hourly and salary level. Internal candidates always get priority for job postings. Good benefits package (401k, Employee Stock Purchase, Vacation, Personal Time, Health Insurance, Free Eyeglasses yearly) Powerful influence in the industry. Experience gained is very respected and useful in other work opportunities.

Cons

Branch locations are neglected and squeezed for maximum profit. Communication from upper management and between divisions is nearly non existent. Many mangers are very poorly prepared to effectively manage others. Focus on share price and the bottom line supersedes all other concerns (even ethics). 'Mom & Pop' locations purchased and turned into branches of corporate giant. Global focus threatens the amount of US-based jobs. Executive favoritism for French and Male colleagues.

Pros

Solid, stable company. Industry leader. Opportunities for advancement or movement to other positions. Great for sales and marketing or R&D but not much else.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Lots of turnover and little training, which means a lot of managers that don't know what they are doing. Too much focus on "the numbers" and stock price, and not concerned about employee happiness. Emphasis is on cutting costs (labor specifically) and not on creating value for the customer. Company does not learn from mistakes, and all decisions are top-down. Does not listen to ideas from below. Very political. Rewards "yes-men" who appease their managers, and punishes anyone with negative feedback (even if it's the truth). Very poor communication between divisions. No transparency. Has major, major problems with IT infrastructure and its proprietary software that is essential to its operations.
