Cons

1. As a foreign teacher, you will be treated differently in different language centre based on how much they need a foreign teacher. The language centre I worked for in Shenzhen Nanshan Xili language centre treated me like a supply teacher. The experience was rubbish as they made the schedule in advance for you to plan your teaching, and they changed most of it at the last minute. So you keep working as hard as you can but unfortunately it was in vain. They will judge your performance but never consider the negative influence they made by changing schedules. They expected you to teach like a professional teacher when you have no experience at all. They don't give you time to practice as there are only two months of probation. They expected you to remember all the names of students when you only see them once or twice (I don't even have my own students as they treated me as a supply teacher). However, if you work in the language centre where you are the only foreign teacher, you will be the lucky dog as no one will judge your class. You can have your own students from day one, and no one will sit at the back to watch your performance. So the probation experience and requirements of the performance are totally different based on the language centre you based. 2. As a foreign teacher, you need to be aware that if you can't pass the probation, you have to give all the funding back including hotel that they paid for the whole week, ten thousand RMB they transffered to you in advance, and health insurance. Also, your work visa fee need to be paid back on your own. 3. Once you left the company, they will swap your visa to the temporary visa and you have to pay for it. You have only 30 days to stay in the country. 4. Your original files will be stamped by the company and you will have no chance to work for another company in the country (that was my experience, different foreigners could be treated differently again). 5. Please do not cancel your bank account before leaving the country as they may ask your bank account details and transfer some of the wages if you worked overtime. (I cancelled my bank account because if you don't, you will be charged the annul fee of the card. Also, your phone number won't work if you fly out of the country. So I don't know why they tried to pay me back when I have left the country). They will not transter the wages to your family or friend's account. Over all, this is the company which will give you nightmare. I also read that many parents asked for the refund as they are not happy about the class. They refused to pay back. So the parents have to sue the company.
