Pros

Living and traveling in China! Made enough to travel A LOT! Great way to see the world and meet new people. The schedule is super nice, too. Only worked evenings and weekends with two consecutive days off.

Cons

Inconsistent expectations across EF schools. My school was very demanding and had a very high standard for its teachers which was great for me professionally. But all teachers make the same and some teachers at other schools did significantly less work. It was frustrating to see that I was paid the same for doing more work and being held to a higher standard.

Pros

Very open environment with very little governance. Promotes new ideas and close knit bond between staff. Modern design workspace, very friendly coworkers.

Cons

Very big segregation between westerners/westernized staff and local staff. Many did not speak english very well and many events were hastily prepared.

- opportunities for advancement. - standardized benefits based on market norms. - lots of resources at your disposal - generally a great staff a professional Chinese who are also able to assist you with so many things that go well beyond their regular job duties. The Chinese staff are usually the shining stars of an EF establishment.

Cons

- there are sometimes sketchy head teachers who can make things difficult for you. - EF also operates in some cities that are less than desirable to work in.
