EF was one of the few workplaces that had me going home and crying from exhaustion. The management cheated and lied to me. I was working sometimes twice as many hours as my contract says I should in order to finish paperwork. When I looked for help I was given words of encouragement and then even more work. I was forced to attend company events unpaid. Team building and special training events were optional, but one of my coworkers was fired for not attending once (with no previous warnings). EF also pays about 50% less than other schools in my area. When I left the company, EF illegally forced me to leave the country (by converting my residence permit to a tourist visa). Normally I would have had 10 days to find a new employer. They withheld my salary until I gave them my passport so they could do this.

Lots of Admin.Chinese Management are profit driven and don't treat local staff members with the same respect as they would have for Foreign Staff members. Wages are also very low for Chinese staff members. Lots of additional hours spent for training and general meetings. Didn't enjoy being a dancing monkey for Marketing Activities. Penalties off bonuses for things out of your control like being late because a bus broke down or parent complaining about your class ( Whatever happened it's your fault.)
