It's a good entry point to the large world of teaching English abroad. Compared to jobs in certain public schools and universities there's a lot of structure and resources. Salary and Benefits improve quite significantly over the first few years. Although promotion opportunities are not necessarily there.

Cons

It's a big company and it is profit-driven. Management rarely understand beyond the here and now. Any investment in the future happiness and satisfaction of employees will be laughed at and dismissed. Vacation (in China) are not enough to truly disconnect, but they after a year or two you can count on them letting head home for several weeks Note however that all Shane schools are different, and since management plays a huge role in how comfortable foreign teachers end up being, I would suggest google your school before signing anything. Or check if it's on the Foreign Teacher Union or if it's in China look it up on secondlanguage.world
