Pros

Stable work. Opportunities for growth

Cons

Too much expected in one session which burdens the students. 2 hour lessons for 6 year olds and teaching phonics, grammar, reading and writing in session leading to most skills being ignored and teachers resorting to teaching memorization. Micromanagement, changing goal posts, extreme competitive environment with little genuine team spirit

Pros

- Company values diversity within staff and student / parent demographics. You get staff from many different backgrounds, whether local or global. - Great learning and growth opportunities. Will elaborate further in cons though. - Friendly working environment. - Fun and cute kids. You get to understand each student's personalities, how they learn, etc. - Getting gifts from your students will feel VERY heartwarming. - Most of the staff speak amazing English. If you're one of those folks that feel more comfortable speaking English, this place is for you. - Although recommended, you don't need prior educational experience.

Cons

- Salary isn't the highest, let alone ideal. Some positions, especially non-full-time positions, pay below UMR. Make sure you come from a stable background. - Neurotypical / socially aware privilege, as well as pretty privilege. Despite the friendly working environment. - Competition within internal staff can get pressurized. - Even if you don't need prior educational experience, the pressure you feel to become a good teacher can be demanding. - About those growth opportunities. It will take a long time for you to climb the ladder. Some factors to "speed" the process may be your teaching skills. Sometimes it may even be pretty privilege. - Turnover rate is sus.
