Don't expect them to be in CT in the near future

Pros

Was a good place to begin/grow a career. Pay superior to direct competitors (though NY/CT based employees disagree) Met good people that I truly care about. Did NOT shut down due to pandemic. Access to several well-known clients that can be used to build careers after EDM.

Cons

Management selects several good employees and works them into the ground while allowing other to skate by. Also makes promises which go unfulfilled. Reliant on outdated, obsolete business model (linear, server-based broadcasting) by low-tier clients to survive. Too reliant on too few clients, which allows those clients to walk all over EDM staff. Management will not back EDM employees in conflict with clients. Judging by actions/inaction and decision making by upper management, it's painfully obvious that EDM plans to consolidate the company to it's Atlanta HQ. Stamford office will be closing in the next 3-5 years, max. No new clients have been assigned to the Stamford office in years. At least three rounds of layoffs occurred during my tenure, backing this opinion. I encourage all EDM Stamford employees to begin seeking alternative employment immediately.

EDM - MCB ops

Business Outlook

Pros

On job training, TV scheduling software Ops guaranteed breaks and lunch paid Office job, no labor, not outdoors/in the elements, no custodial work. Decent benefits: health life vision dental pet transit parking

Cons

High turnover - only for diligent workers open to constant learning & humility. Under industry standard pay, more duties then average as well. Pay raise only with promotion regardless of tenure - ops to supervisors: increase in hours or shifts/week no guaranteed breaks, commonly none at all. Management positions: rare, sometimes seasonal, only available if said held-position retires, quits, or promoted up. 24hour industry requiring weekends, holidays, including blackout periods when in-advance pto & vacation cannot be scheduled. Some management can be vocal/emotional - regardless of merit, anyone can be chewed out for their last mistake.
