Routine Work - Great Benefits - No Leadership - Assistant Manager Walmart Employee Review

Pros

The benefits may be some of the best. When other companies no longer offer profit sharing, or other matches to employee 401K plans Walmart still does. If you are a hard worker, and enjoy routine, then this is the place for you.

Cons

The twelve hour shifts in the 3 days on/3 days off rotation are drudgery. If you are a creative person, with ideas and excitement to share, you will find your enthusiasm rained on at Walmart. It's almost impossible to be involved in church, youth, scouting or other outside meetings in your personal life with the schedule we work as assistants. You can't keep the commitment to participate because you can only attend half the time... the only thing you can be committed to is the company. That's so disappointing.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
