Pros

Friendly work colleagues - weekend staff quite young which leads to a fair amount of social events. The pay was very good, especially for those who have been at the company a while and still receive time and half on a Sunday. The Discount is good especially on double discount days. Flexible with holidays.

Cons

The most disorganised company I have worked for! This disorganisation seems to run through the whole business from shop management to head office. Shop management are useless (with the exception of one or two) and there are far too many of them (at least in my former shop). Mostly stand about chatting in a group or all disappear into the office at the same time while the sales assistants are left to run the shop. Very frustrating when you have to interrupt their gossip or have to go and find them so they can deal with a customer enquiry (usually a return/exchange). GETTING PAID OVERTIME! CANNOT HIGHLIGHT THIS POINT ENOUGH! If you work overtime expect to fight a battle with management to actually get paid it. It takes numerous enquiries, reminders, down right demanding for you to get anywhere in this matter. You will have to go into work on your own time to try and sort this out, not just enquiring on the days you are actually working. It's that bad that I refused to do overtime for the last 2 years of my employment. Rarely recognised for good performance.

Pros

I was fortunate that when I chose to relocate, Walgreens transferred me to a different state.

Cons

Disrespectful upper management. Inadequate training provided yet full responsibility expected. Selective on who progresses
