Pros

Volvo IT has some really good people - smart, articulate and professional. As part of a huge international Group, there are numerous chances to travel - either on projects or for internal training - most of the training is performed out of Gothenburg, Sweden. There are always a number of interesting projects, inevitably with an organisation the size of Volvo, something, somewhere is always changing. Core skills are valued quite highly and the diversity of systems and applications is enormous. Most projects are run internationally, pulling people in from around the globe so there is also lots of opportunities to work on an international basis.

Cons

Following the announcement that Volvo will be outsourcing most of its operational IT to India, morale has hit the floor. People are leaving - either by choice or as part of the outsourcing process. Various management reshuffles have left the organisation lacking in experienced middle management and there are some significant issues with management communication.

Pros

Really inclusive environment and most of campus is already with ABW - activity based workplace (flexible seating).

Cons

Sometimes due to the very inclusive environment, decisions can take a little longer.

Pros

Vacation, parental leave, cafeteria, DEI.

Cons

I feel like decisions are made by people not involved in processes which results in day to day activities becoming more and more difficult. Unable to schedule projects to save their lives. So many last minute tests and drop in testing, theres almost no point to schedule testing.
