Pros
Good medical benefits, on-site doctor, physical therapy, and pharmacy. Good annual leave and holidays.
Cons
My salary was less than others in my field with similar experience. There was almost no work/life balance and management doesn't care. Line support engineers cover 2 and sometimes 3 shifts. It is hard to enjoy your annual leave and holidays when work dictates you need to cover project upgrades during that time. Middle management is young and immature, upper management is completely hands off and doesn't want to be bothered. That leaves the entire workforce unsupported and frustrated. Almost no room for growth, most all moves are horizontal, and there is a lot of that happening. If you stay in one position too long, then you get left holding the bag with all of the work because all of your co-workers move on to other positions (hence long days and weekend work to catch up). No one wants to actually do the work that needs to be done. Do yourself a favor, don't even start working at Volvo unless you like living where you work.
