Pros
Overall, it is a very person and family friendly company. - Great benefits, better than average - Good work life balance - Corporate culture is better than average. Additionally: - Opportunities to work internationally, fun to work with people in other countries. - Interesting technology - Many markets / customers supported.
Cons
Major drawbacks: - Lower than average salaries - A big difference in the way emplyees in Europe and employees in US are treated and compensated. A lot of this is due to the unions and work rules in Europe. - Can be frustrating to work with European team members for the same reason, lots of time off and work rules. - Volvo IT in North America has outgrown the ability of the NA management team to run it in a good way. Especially dealing with the overall (global) company stategy and NA place in it. - Unclear corporate vision - Slow to make decisions and implement them
