Pros
Don’t really have any besides the 401k and decent PTO.
Cons
This is the first negative review I’ve ever written online for a company I worked at. This place was full of drama and work events that are just unprofessional messes full of inappropriate work relationships, and favoritism. Turnover is so high because they continue to use associates to fill in the holes they need. They also claim to be forward-thinking in the way they speak but then won’t actually follow through and change dated policies and work practices. The training is thorough, but that doesn't mean anything when you are treated like a child in "class". You are to attend countless classes virtually and they are monitored. If a high-up sees you look down they immediately will tell your direct boss that you were either sleeping or on your phone and you will get punished. I never had an issue, but I thought that was over the top, as we are all adults. Not in High School. My college professors did not even act that way. I was pushed to do a job I was way underqualified for and run an entire complex on my own when I specifically told them I am not ready. On the 3rd day, they showed up to scold me for not doing everything correctly, 20 minutes after getting in a car accident that they were aware of and STILL asked me to come to work. I was also driving an hour away to do this favor. Pay isn’t fair, it’s extremely extremely low and I made the same wage working as a pool attendant in college. The bereavement leave is fair if you have a funeral in the same state where you work. However, I was told by a high-up that you can extend your bereavement if you need to travel out of state. I had a grandparent pass away 9 hours away, then requested an extra day of bereavement from my property manager so I did not have to use PTO that I was saving for the holidays. I was turned down immediately. I guess only high ups get that treatment. The office sent cards/flowers to residents when their pets passed away but I was given absolutely no acknowledgment when I was going through something. I understand it's business, but these things matter if you want an employee to feel like they belong and are cared about. I rented about 8 apartments in my last couple months and was left in the office alone time and time again while my coworker went to the mall for 3 hours but somehow I only got paid commission for about 2. When I emailed HR they entertained it and said they would look into it but after many attempts to contact them they STILL haven’t gotten back to me and it’s been months. I asked to see the paperwork which I know they can provide, as you can pull leasing reports from the past. But they won’t. It’s so unprofessional. I am sure they will reply to this and say something about contacting me but they’re just saving face. They haven’t answered my emails, and I’m sure by the time they do they will have an excuse as to why I didn’t receive the money.
