Pros

Experience to add to your resume.

Cons

Village Green does not truly care about their sites or employees. Don't believe all of the 5 star reviews that were posted. They emailed us asking us to give them "honest" reviews before the end of that day and wanted us to let them know when it was completed and what the tile of the review was. Like those where going to be anything but glowing 5 star reviews when your higher ups are checking them. They will have one property manager manage 2 sites if they are close to each other which gives one site more attention than the other. When you bring up the fact that your site needs more management attention you will be gas lighted and told you are a smaller community and don't need a manager there all the time. Well, being a smaller community does not mean that the residents living here are less important and that can make your employees feel unimportant as well. Residents still need to see a managers face. For the last year working here most of the residents who moved in thought I was the property manager because they never once met the manager. Not to mention all of the extra resident stress you have to take on with out a pay raise; and when your manager can't handle any sort of conflict everything is left to you or nothing gets done when there is resident issues. Sometimes a note to call a resident would sit on my manager's desk for over an month when they requested a call at a specific date and time. Guess who takes the heat for the manger not calling the resident? If you guessed the Sales Consultant who didn't get a pay raise to deal with more crap because the manager can't, you guessed right. The whole environment is like a high school click. If your not in the "in crowd" then you're looked down upon. I remember going to one employee mixer and never wanted to go to other one because it was so uncomfortable. One time, when we were short staffed with our maintenance team, we had maintenance come help from our sister site. Before they sent anyone over I requested that they not send over one specific employee because he made me uncomfortable. I was laughed at and that was almost always the only person they sent over. This happened for a couple of months. I was and still am absolutely disgusted with my management for putting me in a position that made me uncomfortable like that. Also, the lack of communication is ridiculous. When you mention communication is lacking you are once again gas lit and are told it's not a problem or things change for a week and then we're right back where we started. They are so focused on saving every penny they can for the owners they will cut all advertisement and still expect you to rent apartments. When you mention that tours comment on how hard it was to find our property because your site didn't show up on any online searches, they will give advertising to your sister site and not the site who had the complaints and further show the order of importance. They won't get rid of bad contractors either because the ones that they are using are the cheapest. Which cause resident complaints. Who has to deal with the resident complaints when there's never a manager around? You guessed it right again. Every single employee at my site has now quit since the management change. Obviously something is wrong. I quit because I was tired of fighting for a property no one else cared about.

Pros

Unfortunately, I cannot provide any pros based on my experience.

Cons

Village Green is easily the worst company I have ever worked for. The organization operates in complete chaos with deeply unethical leadership, zero accountability, and an absolutely toxic culture from the top down. Employees are treated as disposable, constantly misled, overworked, and blamed for failures created by incompetent management. Fear, favoritism, retaliation, and dishonesty were normalized daily. The company showed a shocking disregard for professionalism, employee wellbeing, operational standards, and resident trust. Turnover was extreme for a reason — competent employees do not stay. Leadership consistently protected themselves instead of fixing serious issues, and the environment became mentally draining and impossible to thrive in. I would strongly discourage anyone from working here or trusting this company with their career. In my experience, this organization should not be managing people, properties, or teams at the scale it does.
