Pros

Honestly, you can’t go wrong giving Village Green a chance. Village Green has a lot to offer it’s employees starting from the CEO down to the site level. Our CEO, Diane has made so many positive strides since taking over a few years ago. The environment is now positive and welcomes all feedback on how to improve. There is a goal to be a top 100 place to work, and Diane has made it clear she does not plan to rest until it is met. Our training and development program creates so many growth opportunities and can allow anyone who wants to grow that opportunity. VG believes strongly in promotion from within and giving their employees all the tools necessary to be promoted. There is a class for EVERYTHING. Show them you want to grow and that you are dedicated and there will be no stopping you. Corporate Leadership is responsive and supportive. When you reach out to them you won’t have to wait long or follow up to get an answer, they usually have a response back to you same day. If there are issues you are experiencing or concerns that you have, they are there to help improve them or listen. On top of all of this, the company has been consistently growing, evolving and developing every year since I’ve started. They are willing to look at their weaknesses and evaluate how best to fix them. Though it may not be over night, it is something they don’t rest easily on until it is improved. Finally, independence. As a Property Manager, I am given the independence to run my property as my own small business. (Theoretically, of course.) They truly encourage their teams to take ownership of their property and responsibilities. This gives me the ability to do what’s best for my property, my residents and my team.

Cons

The biggest complaint I have right now is not having a paid family/maternity/paternity leave. Though VG really pushes for a strong work/life balance and does not discourage growing a family, not offering this has caused stress in the family planning area.

Pros

Unfortunately, I cannot provide any pros based on my experience.

Cons

Village Green is easily the worst company I have ever worked for. The organization operates in complete chaos with deeply unethical leadership, zero accountability, and an absolutely toxic culture from the top down. Employees are treated as disposable, constantly misled, overworked, and blamed for failures created by incompetent management. Fear, favoritism, retaliation, and dishonesty were normalized daily. The company showed a shocking disregard for professionalism, employee wellbeing, operational standards, and resident trust. Turnover was extreme for a reason — competent employees do not stay. Leadership consistently protected themselves instead of fixing serious issues, and the environment became mentally draining and impossible to thrive in. I would strongly discourage anyone from working here or trusting this company with their career. In my experience, this organization should not be managing people, properties, or teams at the scale it does.
