Pros

Company has good salaries and benefits. Provides great experience across multiple functions of the supply chain. They have great brands.

Cons

The company started to really push heavily about 6 years ago its Unilever Future Leaders Program (UFLP) where they promise new college graduates who are accepted in the rotational programs leadership role. At the same time they are pushing Diversity and Inclusion agenda. This means there are very very limited opportunities for a young white male who has 5-7 years experience. You might as well give up if you're over 40. They are more worried about checking the box and political correctness that they don't put the best person in the role. They wonder why there are many employees leaving the company. That's why. No hope for us. This is reverse discrimination which they will deny. They don't promote you if you don't meet the D&I or UFLP. They use the term privately among directors and HR "blockers".

Pros

Working at Unilever in Raeford offers strong overall benefits, including good pay for the area, solid health insurance, retirement options, and additional perks like tuition assistance and employee discounts. The company provides a stable work environment as a large global organization, with opportunities for career growth and skill development in a modern, well-maintained facility. Employees often highlight the team-oriented culture, supportive coworkers, and clean, safety-focused workplace. Overall, it’s considered a reliable employer with good work-life balance and long-term career potential.

Cons

Working there can involve long hours and rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, which can make work-life balance harder depending on your role. The job can also be physically demanding, especially in production or warehouse positions, requiring standing for long periods and repetitive tasks. Because it’s a large corporation, there can be strict policies, less flexibility, and slower decision-making. Additionally, while growth opportunities exist, advancement can sometimes feel competitive or slow without the right connections or timing.
