Pros
As a supervisor with DAL Global Services you are immediately empowered with an enormous amount of responsibility that grows on a continuous basis. The amount of responsibility makes for a great resume builder in all aspects of supervision and mid-level management. You are in continuous contact with subordinates as a front line supervisor and the eyes and ears of the entire airline operations on any given shift. You will be making frequent contact with customers wishing to speak with a "supervisor" and you report directly to the station manager. This is a high visibility position. No two days are the same. Any given day, hour or minute can be good and then bad at the drop of a hat. Running an airline station is very exciting and many people will become very dependent on your expertise and ability to get things done. Amazing flights benefits!
Cons
With all of the inherent responsibilities - that continuously grow with each passing week - you will quickly realize that the pay is not even close to being commensurate. Upper level management continuously harasses the station manager for results and the station manager in turn harasses you to take responsibility to execute his/her plan for improvement. You will hear the phrase "held accountable" every day, because the company will quickly distant itself from anyone that can't keep up with expectations. You will be scheduled to work 40 hours a week, usually four on/three off. However, you will be working overtime, all the time. Forget going home on time. If you can't take the pressure of never knowing when you'll go home and work for less than $15 an hour - this might not be for you. The only way to make a good salary with the company is to get into management or a specialized position (salary).
