Pros
Free Travel. Lenient treatment of staff. Support for those with families and special needs that require flexibility. Decent final pension salary scheme. Excellent benfits including half price haircuts, Bike loan scheme, Discounted travel on Eurostar, Working towards a better London for everyone, having no backstabbing environment as in the private sector. The people that work for the company are by and large pretty decent.
Cons
Terrible management. Reward for compotency is simply being given more and more to do. No incentive to do anything above that required, since all that happens is more work landing on your desk ! There are too many people that exist within the company and seem to be employed to do nothing more helpful to it that justify their own salaries. Its also way too easy to work here and get away with murders in terms of absence through sickness etc. Its a difficult environment to progress in as well
