Pros

Good opportunity for learning to work with customers, especially the difficult ones. For those who want to learn packing, printing, or document creation it's a good job. Too few employees lately don't seem interested.

Cons

Several of the younger employees (in their 20's) not all don't want to learn the job. My hands are tied because the owner plays favorites & allows them to do as they please. This has gone on for a while & I'm tired of having a lot of responsibility with little power. That's why I'm looking for another job.

Pros

It's a job. More pleasant and cleaner than fast food for what it's worth. Small business environment (since most stores are franchised) may either be a blessing or a nightmare depending on the owner(s) and management.

Cons

Extremely hectic and high-pressure work environments. Job responsibilities are more or less everything to do in such stores. Experience can vary wildly by franchise management. Arguably greater work stress and responsibility than comparable retail jobs for significantly less pay.

Pros

They were willing to grow my skills and teach me a decent amount about all things print. They reliably gave me 40 hours of work. Day to day was mostly self managed, so they trusted you if you were competent.

Cons

Ownership was incredibly cheap. I was promised raises as print expanded, that was certainly not the case and when i brought that up I already knew what the answer would be. I had to beg for an upgrade to our print facilities that only came at the expense of losing an assistant to help with print. Overall ownership lacked willingness to spend money to make money. Despite losing an assistant I received no raise and workload only continued to get piled on as other aspects of print got given to me until I was essentially a one man team.
