Learn fast. Titles change frequently without resources or support. - Managing Director Teach for America Employee Review

Pros

Benefit package compared to other non-profits is generous. If you are an alum, you have more edge on sharing opinions. This may be helpful since survey results and names are not anonymous to staff.

Cons

Mismanaged projects by senior leaders. Managers of full-time teams have little to no knowledge of project needs and content expertise required. Learn as you go but be perfect when you execute is a common motto. The work environment, although remote, stressful and accompanied by frequent changes to titles and roles, and project expectations. Be ready to be underpaid if you work remote, travel several days including weekends to meet in person for training and discussions that are circular and micromanaged, and expect your peer reviews and manager review to be deficit driven and used against you in future conversations.
